For more than two decades, Dr. Melanie Amster has treated urologic issues from the mundane to the complex and provided unparalleled compassionate care to thousands of women and men. Dr. Amster diagnoses and treats the variety of urinary tract disorders including but not limited to urinary incontinence, pelvic floor prolapse, voiding dysfunction, recurrent urinary tract infections, interstitial cystitis, kidney stones and complex cancer cases.

Dr. Amster has been named a top doctor by Philadelphia magazine from 2010 through 2019. Additionally, she has been named a top doctor in U.S. News and World Report and by Castle Connolly.

After graduating from Barnard College in New York City with a major in biochemistry, she earned her medical degree at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. Her training continued at New York Medical College in Valhalla where she was a Resident and then Chief Resident in the Urology Department. Dr. Amster is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a member of the American Urologic Association, the American Medical Association, the Pennsylvania State Medical and Urology Societies as well as the Philadelphia County Medical Society and the Society of Women in Urology. Dr. Amster is affiliated with Hahnemann University Hospital, Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Roxborough Memorial Hospital and Bryn Mawr Hospital.
